Ep 32 – The Man Who Killed Halloween

In this week’s episode, Robin and Zoey are virtual again and making up for the previous oopsie daisy. Since this episode is coming out the Tuesday before Halloween, Zoey decided to tell us about the man who killed Halloween, also known as the Candy Man. Listen to figure out why a town in Texas didn’t go trick-or-treating for two decades and why your parents always checked your Halloween candy for poison or razorblades.

Robin and Zoey also make corrections for past episodes and all is well as they forgive each other.

Robin’s Something Spooky was the first iteration of “Robin’s Pop-culture Corner” where she tells us about the wild ride that is the show Midnight Mass without giving any spoilers.

Also, an announcement at the end of the very special Halloween episode. The morning of Halloween we will be releasing an extra episode for all to hear, not just our patrons. Please tune in Sunday morning!

I LOVE Halloween. Like I really, really love Halloween. Like holey crap Halloween. If my partner, Khari, was a more festive person, our apartment would be decked out. As it is, I still have décor: creepy tapestries Robin keeps calling webs and I don’t correct her, tiny pumpkins under my Halloween Tree with jack-o-lantern ribbon and other spooky ornaments and lights, Halloween lights everywhere, a candy bowl, a light up sign that says BOO, a painting of a jack-o-lantern with a black cat, and several other things I can’t describe concisely.

The one downside to living in a apartment without a balcony is the lack of exterior decorating space. I would love to have my love for Halloween be very public, however, there is no place for me to declare it.

I’ve always been a fan of the Spooky as well as Fall and also, Candy. Three of my favorites rolled up into one friend-filled holiday? Yes please! I trick-or-treated until my junior year of High School because I didn’t want to give it up. Then my senior year I planned a very poorly executed murder-mystery party with a friend.

I’m actually hosting a party this year! Which I’m uber excited for and I am terrified I will go too far with. Do you think pizza skulls is too far? I hope not!

But anyway, I hope you all have a very spooky halloween!
