Ep 78 – The Alday Family Tragedy

For the Alday Family, the day was just like any other. The men worked on the farm, the women worked in the houses. They were a happy, church-going, good family that never got into trouble. But trouble found them, in the shape of Carl Issacs, Wayne Coleman, George Dungee, and Billy Issacs. These four men were recent prison escapees who targeted the Alday family for their gas.

In this episode, Zoey walks you through the systematic murders of five family members and the court cases that came after. This is the story of the second largest mass murder in Georgia History, with the first being the Woolfolk Family Murders covered by Robin in Episode five.

But before we get to that, Robin brings us a Something Spooky news report about an ancient grave found with a woman who was buried with a sickle around her neck, as if preventing her from rising from her grave. Robin goes into the implications of this and why it’s interesting.
